Contribution

What social and technical innovations exist to turn nutrients and carbon from sources of waste into valuable resources? What are the barriers and opportunities for implementation and upscaling of these innovations in the Baltic Sea Region?

BONUS RETURN contributes with evidence-based research to identify existing ecotechnologies in the Baltic Sea Region by applying methodologies drawn from scientific, empirical and local knowledge. The project brings together a variety of stakeholders – local authorities, researchers, policymakers, municipalities, investors, civil society and private sector innovations to find practical solutions to reuse nutrients and carbon in the Baltic Sea. We engage with policymakers to reduce knowledge gaps on policy performance by researching what technologies work, where, and under what conditions.
