It is essential to find innovative solutions to tackle the problems affecting the Baltic sea so as to support people and marine life dependent on its ecosystem.

BONUS RETURN focuses on generating several key innovations with regards to eco-technologies, policy and implementation, participatory methods, and scaling. This will be achieved through the project’s unique combined focus on societal needs and technological strengths. The project brings together a variety of stakeholders – local authorities, researchers, policymakers, municipalities, investors, civil society and private sector innovation to find practical solutions to reducing nutrients and carbon, and turning waste into profit. Scientists and policy makers will be engaged to reduce knowledge gaps on policy performance by researching which technologies work, where, and under what conditions.
